To establish a secure platform for Internet banking,
MPECU turned to its service provider, Premier Systems, Inc.
The Ultra-Access system is secured with a variety of mechanisms,
including:
~ Access control with your account number and
PIN: (personal identification number) - each member's number is
unique.
~ SSL encryption: MPECU protects every remote
banking transaction by using Verisign Digital Certificates which
enable Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. This means
that nobody can decipher the transaction between you and the
Ultra-Access server.
~ Firewall: Premier Systems, Inc. requires
that the computer "firewalls" protecting Ultra-Access products have
specific port proxy capabilities for additional security against
unauthorized access.
To protect your account we recommend several precautions:
-
For your protection, please be sure to
completely exit your internet access software (browser) after
using home banking.
-
Never give your PIN to anyone, or write it in a
place that can be easily accessed.
-
Avoid PIN's that are easily guessed (like LOVE,
the last four digits of your phone number, or consecutive
numbers). Make your PIN truly unique - and something
you'll remember easily.
-
If you'd like, the Credit Union can reset your
PIN. Please contact Gail 336-1801, Jim336-1815,
Emily 336-1817, or Cindy 336-1803.
